Page <br /> k <br /> 7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> 1 iinutes <br /> September 2 , 1994 <br /> Best Buy Beverages, Inc.: <br /> Mr. DePaul requested the Burd approve the All=Alcohol Package <br /> Goods Store license to Best Buy Beverages, Inc. to service the <br /> need of the community. <br /> i <br /> Deirdre Greelish addressed several concerns related to the approval <br /> of an all-alcoholic beverage license to Best Buy Beverage and <br /> Deer Crossing Market as proposed. <br /> yrs. Greelish indicated that there is a concern to the effect of alcohol <br /> in our community.` y with this awareness and the efforts of"'Together <br /> We Can," she urged the Selectmen to take a stand to stop any <br /> increase of liquor sales in 1ashpee. <br /> i <br /> Kathy Lynch of Jones Road indicated that Best Buy as located is set <br /> back from the road and is in an area where the children cannot see it. <br /> Torn Bryant asked if all outstanding taxes are paid and if there has <br /> been incidence of trouble. <br /> Mr. whritenour indicated that a report was received from Anne Shaw, <br /> Treasurer indicating that no outstanding taxes are due to the Town. <br /> There are also no reported incidents of trouble stated Mr. whritenour. <br /> Catherine Conroy noted that many residents use Best Buy to redeem, <br /> but we are not hearing support for their year round license. <br /> Being no further comment, Selectman Trills closed the Public Hearing <br /> at 7:36 p.m. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Costa to approve the application <br /> of Best Buy Beverage, Inc. for an All-Alcoholic Package <br /> Goods Store license. lotion seconded by Selectman Vaccaro. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Selectman Caffyn abstained. <br /> With regards to the above abstention, Selectman Cafyn indicated that <br /> she felt the Board would have scheduled the separate hearings and <br /> voted after discussion. <br /> 739 p.m. Public Hearing: <br /> BIA, Inc., d/b/a Deer Crossing Market: <br /> Selectman Mills opened the Public Nearing on the application of <br /> BI , Inc.,d/b/a Deer Crossing Market for an All--Alcoholic Package <br /> Goods More license in accordance with MGL 138, Section 17B. <br />
