Bob Mills, Bill <br /> Jones, Steve Greelish , Greg Taylor, Tom Fudala <br /> MINUTE <br /> Mr . Polito rade a motion to accept the minutes of July 1 th, <br /> 1993 . his . Ahlgren seconded the motion* All members were in <br /> favor. <br /> COMMITTEE DISCUSSION <br /> The Committee los in agreement with D r. DeMoura' s academic program <br /> list as presented at the last meeting with the addition of a <br /> Library. <br /> The Committee discussed the list pr nted by Leisure Services <br /> (Gus Fredericks) and which items hou1d be included in the <br /> planning stages: <br /> - Child Care Center, Mr . Griffin stated if it' s not in the scope <br /> of a high school , the Committee should not be concerned with it. <br /> Ms . i l 1 s stated its primary use should be academic , a a course <br /> to offer i n child carp:. There is also the concern that child <br /> care providers may feel their business is being threatened; this <br /> is a main SOU rte of income to many mothers in town. <br /> An after school program is a separate function which could he <br /> handled i n the school by Leisure Services. This does not add to <br /> the space requirements. <br /> The Committee decided to see what it might cost and then can <br /> discuss it further . <br /> Teen enter- the Committee' s initial thought was not to include <br /> i Greg Taylor stated presently they are only looking at site <br /> development, i it appropriate for as marry uses as we may end up <br /> having , i .e. another elementary hoo 1 . There are two different <br /> issues , the site and the school building <br /> The Committee will ask it be included but not as part of the <br /> school building . <br /> Chairman Dinizio explained the architect is required to give a <br /> cost estimate . This ommi ttee will decide what i' s to be <br /> presented at town meeting and the town can vote to except all of <br /> it or nothing . This O MI ttee will offer what we feel is needed <br /> by the town and i's cost effective. This is what the Selectmen <br /> have asked of thi's thisCommittee, <br /> - Swimming Pool - should be included . <br /> Therapeutic Pool - should be included . <br /> - Gym. The Committee agreed they have to be a re f u 1 not to load <br /> I <br />
