Gr 1 f in thought the d iscuss i on de c r i b i ng a 2/3vote 11 S <br /> required at Town Meeting for a Proposition 2 1 /2 override i <br /> necessary wa in error, The Committee agreed that i's the correct <br /> procedure. <br /> Greg Taylor stated the discussion de ribing Goodspeeds Road a <br /> n ancient way is a problem. He was told by town council that <br /> legally, ther are no ancient ways. It can be called "road At <br /> a <br /> M r. Griffin made a motion to accept the minutes as amended . Ms. <br /> Ah 1 g r n seconded the motion. All Committee members were in <br /> favor: <br /> DISCUSSION WITH FIELDS POINT I S' RE n PROPOSED FINE ARTS Ei TER <br /> Greg Taylor explained Doug Storrs was not able to attend but gave <br /> Greg some information for the Committee, They reviewed a plan <br /> with the proposed location for the arts center . It is not under <br /> the power lines a the Committee previously thou ht, it is on the <br /> next piece of property up y on Fields Point property. Field <br /> Point is to use; a common access . They are a 1 l owed o <br /> develop the�i r� own accessacross their property . Chou torr can <br /> attend another r me ting6 They u g gest the town look t the <br /> property across the street on Old Barnstable load for a possible <br /> elementary hoo l , it would be abuttingbut separated from the <br /> high school . <br /> Tom noted that site w rejected by the previous committee. It <br /> R. <br /> is s 28 acre parcel . There i' a subdivision planned f o r it. <br /> Mr. Martiros said it -i o the developers advantage to have a <br /> bultldable project on that site. <br /> Tom explained there is no longer prot tive zoning on the 151 <br /> site so the property value has Just gone down . <br /> Greg 'Taylor stated this project is j u t in the planning stages , <br /> they still must raise a large sum of money . Ther i's probably <br /> some flexibility . H p k with 'tire developers who are cicod <br /> about the possibility of a high chop l on the site . <br />
