Give the Committee <br /> information ' d feedback to make eci 1 ons 4 <br /> - Preliminary liaison i th SFSB,. <br /> Dr. DeMoura agreed the Committee could use someone working with <br /> them full time during the des I n phase ; make sure it meets SFSB <br /> criteria, He estimates it would take 2-3 months 'to develop <br /> educational specifications. <br /> Ms . Murtha stated each architect imer iew d mention-ed an <br /> educational consultant that will core with the architect as part <br /> of the project. h i seems to be duplicating that. <br /> The Committee discussed this issue at length . <br /> M r . Griffin thinks the Committee needs someone to report to them, <br /> If we giveit to the architectural con ultart we loose control . <br /> From h i- experience there are many detal' Is to work out. The <br /> Committee should hire someone through the design phase , which <br /> could last 12 months. <br /> M . Ah 1 g r n mentioned that Mash pee does not have a high c hoo l <br /> staff to ask questions of. We need opinions and information to <br /> design the school . She is concerned we will build a school <br /> w i t hout high hoo l people invol d . <br /> Mr . Polito sedated the architect will research everything about a <br /> high school , develop a good data base and scrutinize people who <br /> know, You have to have checks and balances. The Committee reeds <br /> someone to look at and scrutinize the architect's numbers . <br /> Mr . r i ff i n does no want to pre-set a curriculum based or a <br /> building . <br /> Dr . DeMoura stated the principal and School Committee will be <br /> involved in selecting a staff, naming the school , choosing school <br /> colors, sports and scheduling . Where is a lot of Community work <br /> and working with Committees , Mr . Griffin is describing more of <br /> an engineer. <br /> Mr. Griffin was thinking more about an educator , working solely <br /> in design tri tri a. <br /> Chairman D i n ii z i o asked Dr . DeMoura if he sees a problem with the <br /> Committee hiring omeon ? <br /> Dr , DeMoura does not but he told the Committee they can count or <br /> the Superintendent' office to do a lot of those things, to keep <br /> the project moving . <br /> Mr . Polito began to wonder what the purpose of this person i ? <br /> The architect has to he able to do what we are describing . The <br /> Committee may reed more of a clerk to control the data. <br /> M ,. Murtha stated Dr. DeMoura xpect to have a principal b <br /> March whose sole job will be getting the high chop l on board . <br /> We don ' t reed another position especially i rte the architectural <br /> firm will have their own consultant.
