Peter asked Dr, DeMoura if this design has enough flexibility to handle the <br /> junior high on a temporary basis? <br /> Dr . Deiou ra said it does . <br /> Special Education- should the roots be segregated or mixed in with other <br /> classrooms? <br /> Dr . Dei ou ra explained these are high school children who cannot perform all <br /> the subjects in the regular classroom. It does not mean they are <br /> discipline problems. These will be regular classrooms. <br /> Ed Frenette advised the committee not to take the decision on house offices <br /> ( asst. principal light1y . The more you pull them in towards administration , <br /> you pull away from a true house plan . <br /> Mark moved the asst. principal offices to where they would have a view of <br /> the corridor and the outside bus drop off entrance. <br /> Bill Jones has a concern about the bus drop off , will the younger students <br /> be mixing with older' <br /> Dr , DeMoura explained they will be on the same bus and thea they will split <br /> and go in different entrances . <br /> Bill said he has heard concerns from parents who don ' t want 7 & 8th grades <br /> mixing with high school students . He does not see a period when at least <br /> the 8th grade will be in this school . He asked Clark , if he was designing a <br /> junior/senior high school , would he have chosen this des i gnI, <br /> Clark said he would . Heat weep tie will prepare a diagram showing how they <br /> can allow for some segregation of the two groups . <br /> Bill Jones said it needs to be formally addressed with a plan . <br /> Mark showed that scheme 1 is 187 , 388 gross sq feet , when it is supposed to <br /> be 183 , 000 . <br /> The less corridors , the more efficient. At this point i t can all be <br /> improved . <br /> The next scheme they prepared got worse in terms of efficiency . <br /> Scheme 3 is moving towards a solution , it is down to 184, 000 sq feet . They <br /> moved the entrance .
