This idea has the
support of the Board of Health and D r . DeMou ra. The goal is to improve the
services provided to the entire commun i t including school age children ,
She explained the Committee she represents quI1 pulled some thoughts
together on this s ub4 ec t to present to the Building Committee ( including a
handout) . Nancy suggested this space could be tied into the nurse station
or the leisure service area, with a separate entrance and exit.
The Board of Selectmen support the concept. She hopes it is not too late
for this to be considered .
Peter asked if this clinic would compete with other medical services in
town?
Nancy said it would not . It i s really a human services clinic, not medical
clinic, although the IRNA would provide immunization .
Peter suggested , since the leisure service space will not be used full
time , maybe it could use that space .
Nancy said Dr . DeMoura thought the nurses station could be expandeda
because there is a waiting room there already ,
Gus Fredricks does not have problem with 't being t ie intoLeisure S rrice
office space ,
Pay asked what kind and how much space they will need?
Nancy suggested Soo sq ft - 2 offices and a waiting room, and/or next to a
conference room that could be used . a
Peter said he also spoke with Dr. DeMou ra . He was talking about using
current space in the program, not adding space, we should look for
flexibility from spaces that are pant of the program.
Flay asked when it will operate"?
Nancy said during the day and after school hours, on weekends and all year
long . She apologizes for presenting this at this late date but the idea
just camp up . She is -following up with the Department of Heath to see if
there is some funding available for this space h
The entrance should be semi -private , could be shared with other functions ,
Paul suggested leaving it with the architectural team, see ghat they can
do . If it can ' t be worked out, it will have to come from free classroom
1
