Some of that <br /> the owners decided not to take, much of It the did , It i s fairly typical <br /> that the services would pay for themselves as long as the budget can be <br /> preserved once you start construction , It is important to maintain a level <br /> of consistency , <br /> What was the total project cost for that $4. 5 million av i ns? <br /> 56 million construction, 67 million total project cost. <br /> Merry Sue asked if they had ever worked with a school committee group like <br /> this before? <br /> M r, Tishman has worked with a few school groups like this, in New Jersey <br /> and Portland Maine , but not in Mass. <br /> Paul asked if the BMMA/Tishman project care in under budget? <br /> M r . Tishman said it is still under construction , they negotiated the GMP <br /> after the value design was completed <br /> Paul asked what they see their role to be after the pre-construction , i f <br /> the Committee en gages you for that portion of the project? <br /> Mr . Tishman said they wQu l d provide the Committee with a small staff, 1 - <br /> full time people , part time clerical and we would be the project <br /> administrator - bookkeeping , processing of paperwork, negotiations of <br /> claims, w will be the construction department for the 1 i fe of the <br /> p roj et i <br /> Peter asked if they were under contract with BMMA? <br /> Mr. Tishman said they are both under contract to the State , for the MA Info <br /> Tech Center in Chelsea. <br /> COMMITTEE DISCUSSION <br /> Bill Martiros told the Committee he had talked with Jim Vaca r ro about <br /> converting our 2 schools to dual fuel use. Maybe the architect could look <br /> into that. <br /> Janice said we should let someone else do it on their budget <br /> Steve Greelish said it will be very expensive to convert, <br /> Peter explained we are not funded to look at those issues. Town Counsel <br /> would have to be asked if it could be included i n their services . <br /> Project Mian agm n t Firms : <br /> Seaman B ra.tko - the Committee agreed they were not interest i n this firm <br /> Hanscomb - they are not interested , especially after seeing these two firms <br /> interviewed today. <br /> Leher McGovern Bovis - <br /> Peter thought they were very professional . He suspects they may be <br /> adversarial with BMiMA. <br /> Paul said the Committee must first think about what we want. what we need <br /> is a professional gopher. He read the selection criteria from the RFP. <br /> Merry Sue thinks LMB is a very big firm. They were beyond us , above us, <br /> more that we need . She likes Tishman better . <br /> Bill Jones said we have a fine and very capable architect who are capable <br /> of much of what these two firms said they would be doing . <br />
