POOH. the committee asked Gus Fredericks what is his sense of the communities feelings about the pool ? Gus said a lot of people are very interested i n i t. Many people , especially fame' l i es, want the pool . Paul asked Gus if it comes to a pool or something else , what will provide the most for people in town , for after school use? u s said both sandwich and Nantucket said there i s lot of part pati in their pools . sandwich does not think the area can afford another pool . We will take a lot of business away from their pool . The Committee asked Gus if he would work with the architect on the capital and operating costs of the pool ? Gus said he would . Bill Martiros asked if he could give the committee an idea of other towns interest in joining with us. Gus said Falmouth would be interested sinee they now go to Mass . Maritime Academy . The cape Cod swim Club has said they would pay $20 , 000 a year in rental fees . Peter explained this will require a let of work and publicity on the part of Leisure Services , This Committee does not want to make the final decision , nor do the selectmen . The people in the community will have to choose. Gus said there has been talk of building it and paying for it outright , so it won ' t be in the sq footage reimbursement amount. ARCHITECT NEGOTIATION Peter explained SMMA will bring their formal offer to the negotiating team on Friday at 2 : 00 p .m. Paul explained he spoke with Mr. Fo rn i e r who was trying to give some of the costing responsibilities to Chartwell . He told them it is there responsibility to do the costing , they have to supply all the data. we asked thea for the cost of creating a panel of teachers. PROJECT MANAGER NEGOTIATIONS. Greg Taylor said he would like to hear what Chartwell proposes for scope of work and we can work from there. Paul would like to ask Chartwell to put together a draft proposal , send i t to the team, and the first meeting can be a critique of that draft. Thi s makes better use of the time.
