Many people, <br /> especially families want the pool , <br /> Paul asked Gus, if it comes to a pool or something else , what will provide <br /> the most for people in town, for after school use? <br /> Gus said both sandwich and Nantucket said there is a lot of participation <br /> in their pools. sandwich does not think the area can afford another pool , <br /> We will take a lot of business away from their pool . <br /> The committee asked Gus if he would work with the architect on the capital <br /> and operating costs of the poolq <br /> Gus said he would. <br /> Bill Martiros asked if he could give the committee an idea of other towns <br /> interest in ,joining with usl, <br /> Gus said Falmouth would be interested since they now go to Mass. Maritime <br /> Academy. The cape cod swim club has said they would pay $20 , 000 a year in <br /> rental fees . <br /> Peter explained this will require a lot of work and publicity on the part <br /> of Leisure Services . This Committee does not want to mane the final <br /> decisionx nor do the selectmen . The people in the community will have to <br /> choosed <br /> Gus said there has been talk of building it and paying for it outright, so <br /> it won ' t be in the sq footage reimbursement amount. <br /> ARCHITECT NEGOTIATION <br /> Peter explained sMMA will bring their formal offer to the negotiating team <br /> on Friday at . 00 p .m. <br /> Paul explained he spoke with Mr . Forn i e r who was trying to give some of the <br /> Costing responsibilities to Chartwell , He told them it is there <br /> responsibility to do the cost i n g , they have to supply all the data. we <br /> asked them for the cost of creating a panel of teachers. <br /> PROJECT MANAGER NEGOTIATIONS , Another negotiating team has been set up , <br /> Peter D i n i i o, Paul Griffin , George Costa, Greg Taylor and Nancy caf f yn . <br /> Greg Taylor said he would like to hear what Chartwell proposes for scope of <br /> work and we can work from there , <br /> Paul would like to ask Chartwell to put together a. draft proposal , send it <br /> to the team, and the first meeting can be a critique of that draft. Paul will call them and set up the first <br /> meeting , <br /> Michael Pare 's trip to Las Vegas . <br /> Michael told the Committee it was a great conventiion . The town will benefit <br /> greatly from the trip. There were 80 , 000 attendees in the field of audio, <br /> video, T , radio and multi media. Mike Pet rows i !snows a lot of <br /> influential people in the business and I made a lot of contacts . He talked <br /> to a lot of people about gettinG help for the school . we will be trying to <br /> Dake it a r,showca�e" school . Mike Petrowski is going to put together a <br /> sketch of his ideas , we will be t ry i n9 to set up a meeting with Dr . DeMou r~a <br /> to see what technology he is looking for .
