Peter said Sept, 1996 is our .goa l for opening of the school but we will not sacrifice quality of the building. The committee i s shooting for that date but people assure we will be cutting corners and the building won ' t last, Mr. Flockhart stated they did a project in Lowell , 500 ,000 sq feet of renovation , o million , They were hired i n February to submit drawings for June 1 and they were able to do i t. They d i d that simultaneously with the Ma rthas Vineyard High School project - they did them bothd David Finney added that you have to identify the political constituencies , so no one is left out. Design Partnership will want to know if i t is going to take longer for the community to come to a consensus, That has to be identified up front, Community issues will make the project tale longer. . Steve Greellish said he got the impression they have a lot of irons in the fire, what is your work load?, Mr. Flockhart said Drakett high school is their biggest project, It is in the construction document phase and will be completed in mid May, when Mashpee will be in the design development phase ; Construction document phase is labor intensive, while the schematic design for Mashpee is mostly work with the principals and associates . Steve asked about their CD capabilities. Mr. Constable s i d they are 75-80% on computer, They have introduced it gradually, Steve asked if they can give us a wa1 th rough , an animation? They said they can . Michael Pare asked if they do all high tech work in house or use an outside consultant? They do all educational technology in house . The owner may want training and they would use a consultant. Bill Ma rt i ros asked if a large field house i s desirable over 2 gyms? M!r. Flockhart said a large field house is more desirable. Mashpee does not have a large enough student body. Bill asked how many sq feet were cut from D r. co 11 ab ro#s ed specs with their suggestions M r. Flockhart said he did not look at that total sq feet, jus the individual examples * B1411 mentioned to them that the state may cut the student boder back to 1180 , because they only will consider 5 year projections . Mr, Flockhart said that is the first time he has heard that. Until now, they would only consider 10 year projections, Bill asked if is desirable to have the superintendents office in the high school and how much space should be allotted for that'? They did not have enough information to answer that question , i .e size of staff, etc. Fancy caffyn asked if the swimming pool at Marthas Vineyard was approved? 1l .
