Holt said they have a copy of Mashpee's educational specs, as <br /> it exists today, They have worked closely with educators turning <br /> the specs into a cohesive 40 plant" for the school . Their p ro*ects <br /> have ranged from 135-155 q feet per pupil ., <br /> They have worked on over 21 high school projects in Mass . <br /> Medford high for 3 , 500 students and Braintree for 2 , 800P M r. <br /> Ho i t was the architect for those projects . <br /> They have done a lot of site development work. They work hard to <br /> retain as much of the character of the site, the natural <br /> Vegetation . The Ml ashpee site i s full of "outdoor classroom <br /> possibilities" . <br /> -� Tantasqua High schoo`i in Sturbridge was finished 2- months <br /> ahead of schedule and under budget. 18 years later the materials <br /> used are all in good shape, including carpeti ng used in the <br /> corridors. <br /> Medford High precast, you red in place concrete* was built on <br /> quarry. Includes a swimming pool . The phys ed is all inside <br /> because there was no room outside. It won a national design <br /> award . <br /> - Mi as h pee Middle School addition. They were hired i n July with <br /> the expectation the addition open l year, 1 month later. They <br /> have received feedback from the teachers that it i s bright, <br /> cheerful classroom spaces. They worked hard to touch base with <br /> all town agencies. <br /> Mashpee High school project <br /> Mr, Bradford and Mr . Holt spent some time on the site and looked <br /> at some configurations. MI r. Bradford said it is a beautiful site, <br /> densely wooded with lot to offer. <br /> They plugged in the program to see what the site limits wou1d be. <br /> Existing conditions : densely wooded site. Utilities available on <br /> 151 (gas and water) 50 mph on Fite 1 5 l so access should be from <br /> Old Barnstable Rd. Power line easement through the site. <br /> Pockets of wetland area, Quashnet River , could offer a benefit <br /> to the school facility . <br /> Solar orientation -- they charted the sun path, They showed the <br /> severe d ropof f on the site and proposed setbacks. You could go <br /> into the drop off area but what are the economic tradeoffs. <br /> Program requirements* extensive p l ayf i e 1 ds. The architect wants <br /> to be sure the site is supportive of the facility - the type and <br /> size you have planned . strekal ovsky and Holt feel strongly that <br /> it <br /> is <br /> There is the issue of the electro magnetic fields, how far away <br /> do you want to stay away from them. <br /> They have an excellent record for good, thorough contract <br /> documents <br /> 2 <br />
