i Peter asked what lighting is in the spec? Football field , tennis courts and basketball courts . Practice field is listed but should be removed . They will price out lighting for those fields or conduits to them, at a minimum. BUDGET Bob Fournier explained they have started their value engineering and expect to come before the Committee on the 26th to get down to the budget compliance . Summary : total project cost $23 , 424 , 000 , $128 . 00 per sq foot . The building is about $19 , 105 , 229 and site $4 , 318 , 771 . Bob said the building is close to what they expected a high school project to cost but the site development exceeds greatly what they expected . Usually site work is 10% of total cost. Paul noted the sewage treatment plant should be with building costs , not site costs . How had the Committee budgeted the $27 . 2 million available funds? $20 million for building , sewage treatment and site work $1 million - value improvement contingencies and design changes $2 . 7 fittings and equipment $1 . 9 professional fees $700 , 000 reimbursables : printing , legal fees , survey , testing of concrete etc . $700 , 000 misc . expenses This estimate is still a couple of million dollars over budget, using the contingencies . Paul noted this estimate is all based on specs which are the opinion of the architectural firm. The Committee has not yet given input. The architects will begin working on getting this budget down to $110 per sq foot. Chartwell ' s estimate was $900 , 000 more . He said there is a tremendous amount of asphalt -- that has to be cut back . Paul said the Committee will have to generate reasonable criteria to work with . All department ' s input has been their wish list , i .e paved ring road around the building . The Committee should not let the fire and police drive this , it has to meet the requirements but not their wish list . There are a lot of things Paul would like to see eliminated before the ballfields have to go. The Committee agreed to cancel next weeks meeting because many members will be attending the value management workshop. Merry Sue made a motion to adjourn at 6 :45 p . m. Janice seconded the motion .
