The Committee reviewed the revised administration area. Ray reviewed two sketches with the Committee , one triangular and the second more rounded administration area. He thinks the triangular one works better than the rounded one . It is harder to control the access in the rounded on . He reviewed the layout of where the offices would be . The very "tip" of the triangle space would be cut off somewhat. The triangle version works well on the first floor layout and the media center on the second floor is terrific . The program spaces line up well . The rounded version is more costly because it is a curved structure . The health suite has been enlarged a little . The Committee reviewed the models of the 2 version to see what it means 3 dimensionally . Merry Sue noted there is a lot of southern exposure glass . Ray agreed , there is a lot of glass . They will look at it. Peter said they visited a school with a lot of glass and it was breaking because of the structural stress . Ray said they would structurally isolate the curtain wall from the building structural system. The Committee discussed concerns about the glass . Paul said he likes glass but has found other school systems that have problems with glass. Aesthetically , Janice loves the glass , loves the sunlight. Merry Sue ' s concern is the heat generated , will we have to put shades on it, Joe would like to look at simplifying the lines . Only one slope on the roof . He would like to see a simpler looking building . Peter does not want to build something that will look dated in ten years . Ray agrees . Once they have the chance to put it together , the Committee will see all the pieces fit. Bob said there seems to be a general consensus for this approach and we will develop this further and come back with variations. The Committee reviewed and discussed the site plan .
