some security system originally. Joel said what was originally shown was
window break activators and door sensors
Classroom communicating doors - Bob said that is a direct request of the
Committee, Paul said he doesn't know of a school that doesn ' t have there.
Building Footprint assumption- Bob said the committee made the decision
they wanted this footprint and they knew it is more expensive than a block
design . The premium is $200 , 000 .
Paul said "don 't even try to sell me on that" ! The committee never agreed
they would accept the additional cost because of the shape of the building.
If you design it you eat it.
The Committee reviewed the cost reduction recommendations prepared by sM A.
Merry sue said items 1-8 should be discussed as a package, review together
how they will effect the site.
Bob explained that none of these suggestions are duplicates from the value
management workshop.
SITE
Paul noted the 10/18 estimate said both softball fields would cost $39 ,8002
this one says deleting one will save $57 , 855 . How can that be? F
joe 1 explained this also included deleting of the clearing , grading and
fill of this area k
10/18 estimate said 2 baseball fields cost 86 , 000 , this estimate says
deleting one will save $157 , 000 , The total clearing for the site is only
estimated to cost $200 , 000. The $157 , 000 seems war off. He does not want to
go
forth mai i n these dec ionsif the estimates are not correct.
Joel reviewed the assumptions they worked from, the cubic yard of cut x the
rate. This includes eliminating the clearing of the areas all around the
fields, not just the field .
Llan Solien made a recommendation for the site de1ete the top softball
field and the lower baseball fields then the two lower practice fields
could be mored up and built i n the location of the lower baseball field and
that leaves sufficient room for a future baseball field ,
Ed said even if these numbers are off, these are still significant numbers
Cutting is going to be painful but we have to begin cutting.
The committee agreed to remove 1 baseball , 1 softball and the 2 soccer
fields associated with them.
Basketball court - 1 court costs $30 , 00? Joel said just the bituminous
cost $17 , 000 , Committee agreed to remove 1 court.
Lighting - was always an a 1 to rnate.
Merry sue asked how much the coin operated lighting would cost to install?
$53 , 000 , Lighting will remain an alternate.
Football/track stadium - Paul asked they breakdown the costs associated
18 of the estimate ) . Synthetic track - $2057200 , what other material
options are there? ender track * Dan asked of they want to invest in
installing something that will be replaced as soon as possible? Paul said
they should design a track and keep the synthetic as an alternate, in case
there i's an extra $200 , 000, He would rather kids leave th i's school with a
good education !
Committee agreed to delete the practice footba11 field .,
