He will make a list of recommended <br /> schools and fax it to Paul . The Committee can then discuss where they want <br /> to go. He can also bring drawings of other schools he worked on , to look <br /> at different room layouts . <br /> Steve said is would be helpful , in the cost breakdown , to go by system not <br /> just item i .e. video distribution system. <br /> What is the next thing Mr. Tavares should do? <br /> He should meet with Dr. DeMoura and the furniture subcommittee. He should <br /> contact Dr. DeMoura to set up the meeting. <br /> Paul said the Committee should leave a contingency in the FF&E budget for <br /> items not ordered because there are no teachers and things may be left out. <br /> Janice said the School Department hopes to hire a principal next year. Also <br /> the middle school teachers , 7th and 8th grade , should be consulted . <br /> Next week: servery layout, classroom mock up, exterior photo examples , list <br /> of potential buildings to look at with red block. <br /> Paul explained , when he was meeting with the Legislators , they said there <br /> is serious discussion about State funding for schools. Two years ago they <br /> appropriated $17 million and had $32 million in requests. Last fiscal year <br /> they had $81 million in requests . There is a real question whether the <br /> State should provide any aid and after this round they may shut it off. <br /> ** Merry Sue made a motion to adjourn at 6 : 65 p.m. Janice seconded <br /> the motion.
