Review Article 8-Screening Committee By-Law Revision <br /> Ed noted that at last meeting the Committee took the position to add 2 members to the Screening <br /> Committee, increasing the Screening Committee from 5 members to 7 members. Also, changed <br /> "Personnel Board"to"Human Resources". Mary Waygan said she likes School Committee to be <br /> part of the Screening Committee. <br /> Scott McGee voiced concern about department heads being part of the Screening Committee <br /> when they may not be Town residents. <br /> Chuck Gasior suggested giving the Board of Selectmen one more at-large member for them to <br /> designate a business community member, <br /> Terrie Cook said the Economic Development group(EDIC)does function separately and they are <br /> all Mashpee residents. <br /> Motion: Mary Waygan motioned the School Committee be added as one of the members of the <br /> Screening Committee. <br /> Chuck Gasior seconded the motion. <br /> VOTE: 9-Yes. <br /> Roll call Vote: <br /> Don Myers—yes Michael Richardson—yes <br /> Chuck Gasior—yes Wayne Taylor—yes <br /> Theresa Cook—yes Scott McGee_,yes <br /> Edward Larkin----yes Mary Waygan yes <br /> Richard Halpern-yes <br /> Chuck Gasior motioned that the second designee be Board of Selectmen designee from the <br /> business community. <br /> Discussion: <br /> Richard Halpern said he thinks the Moderator should have an additional designee—one of whom <br /> would be from the business community. <br /> Both Mary Waygan and Wayne Taylor voiced that they favor EDIC. <br /> The motion was not seconded. <br /> Michael Richardson motioned that the second open position be from EDIC. <br /> Wayne Taylor seconded the motion. <br /> Discussion: <br /> Scott McGee asked: Is EDIC appointed by Board of Selectmen;and are all Mashpee residents? <br /> Terrie Cook responded"yes"to both questions. <br /> VOTE: 9-Yes. <br /> Roll call Vote: <br /> Don Myers—yes Michael Richardson—yes <br /> Chuck Gasior—yes Wayne Taylor—yes <br /> Theresa Cook—yes Scott McGee—yes <br /> Edward Larkin—yes Mary Waygan—yes <br /> Richard Halpern-yes <br /> 3 <br />
