They now have temporary town water on site . Previously Stone had been
trucking it in
Construction Progress issues : stone is asking for 4 weeks to complete the
fields but Paul told them that was not acceptable , they must have it
complete in 2 weeks ,
On Friday ( 9/15 ) stone will have all steel shop drawings to SNDA, have a
response to the request to improve the steel erection time and answer about
expedi-ting production of steel .
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLAIT
Last Friday there was a meeting regarding the WWTP. The most important
issue , for the Town to complete , is the operation and maintenance manuals,
The IEP discharge permit requires it be overseen by a. professional
engineer. This committee needs to look to the services of a, professional
for this .
They also discussed who i s responsible for the cost of operation for the
first year. It was concluded this committee should retain that
responsibility.
Steve explained it is probably better to assume that cost for one year
before turning it over to the school ,
Peter thinks that makes sense , the school Department does net have much
experience in running sewage treatment plants .
Steve explained this Committee must contract for operation of the plant and
for sludge hauler, which probably won' t be used the first year. The
contracts for this work have to be developed .
Omesh Kunar from Woodard and Curren was present .
Paul said the committee bought inspection services from Woodard and Curren,
does that include helping to prepare the manual? Mr. Kunar said it does
not.
Joel would like to discuss what DEP requires from the manual .
Steve said it is nebulas at this point . It should included what DEP grants
the town to test for. The committee should have an active role , and needs
to advocate for what we feel and agree is really needed @
It should include micro scaling of experiments , handling of chemicals,
science lab. A plan on how that will be implemented during the school year
must be included within this manual
Mr. Kunar explained. that DEP wants the manual prepared by a. engineer. The
contractor will give you the original manuals for individual pieces of
equipment . The engineer has to coordinate that and provide a, detailed
operational plan for different scenarios of operational occurrences so an
operator can implement its
The grade of the operator and number of hours to be spent at the plant is
all to be spelled out .
Mr. Kunar said there is enough information in the design and. DEP permit to
begin procuring an operator .
Paul explained realistically we don' t need someone on board until we ask
2
