FF & E <br /> Some members of the FF&E subcommittee went to the Boston Design <br /> Center with Manny Tavares to look at office furniture , teachers <br /> desks, chairs file cabinets, etc . <br /> John Williams said they saw 3 different companies ; all 3 had <br /> something to offer. All have lengthy warranties 12-15 years . <br /> Pneumatic chairs have only a 2 year warranty. The secretaries <br /> chairs have to be comfortable , teachers don't sit very much. <br /> The next furniture subcommittee meeting is Thursday at 3 : 00 with <br /> Manny Tavares . <br /> Manny tentatively plans to meet with the Committee on Monday, <br /> Oct . 34th, depending on how Thursday' s meeting goes . <br /> Technology: the subcommittee met today with CCR. They plan to <br /> meet every 2 weeks. The next meeting is Oct . 24th at 2 : 00 in Dr. <br /> DeMoura' s office . <br /> At today' s meeting they discussed the auditorium, bidding on <br /> computers, voice mail package and software for administration. <br /> Mr. Williams prefers "school master" , it is the software he is <br /> most familiar with. <br /> The School Committee is sending Mr. Williams to a conference in <br /> Atlanta in 2 weeks. <br /> Tom Wren said Michael Kirwin said he hopes to have rough specs by <br /> November. <br /> The Committee would like to meet with him on Nov. 14th. <br /> Video recording : Paul explained that Mike Pietrowski is going to <br /> do an aerial video of the site on a bi-monthly basis . He asked <br /> the Committee to approve funds for this , not to exceed $100 . <br /> Paul made a motion to approve funds for an aerial video <br /> of the high school site , not to exceed $100 . 00 . Merry <br /> Sue seconded the motion. All members were in favor 4-0 . <br /> They will play the current video on the school cable channel and <br /> then for May town meeting will create a comprehensive look at the <br /> progress . <br /> Copy of Sandwich O & M Manual : Tom Wren has a copy. He has also <br /> received a number for the sludge hauler. <br /> Paul will talk with Tom this week to see if they have obtained <br /> all the pieces of information (that were talked about at a <br /> previous meeting) to pass on to Woodard and Curran. <br /> Tom Wren had been asked to look into the cost of a roofing <br /> consultant/inspector. He presented that information. He <br /> received 3 proposals : <br /> UTS rate is extremely competitive (they are doing the soil and <br /> concrete testing) and have been very flexible . However, Tom <br /> reviewed the resume of the inspector and he is not too sure that <br /> 4 <br />
