MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 27 , 1995
HIGH SCHOOL SITE
Present : Merry Sue Ahlgren, Paul Griffin, Joan Avant-Tavares , Bill
Martiros , Joe Polito
Dr. Lincoln DeMoura, Tom Wren, Jim Byrne, Joel Seeley
Absent: Janice Mills , Peter Dinizio, Steve Greelish
Meeting convened at 4 : 06 p.m.
Paul expressed his opinion on the progress of the job; not much progress
has been made. He spoke with Jim Vacarro today because Paul is going to
ask this Committee to ask town counsel to issue a letter of warning to the
bond company that the town is considering pulling the bond . Jim Vacarro
agreed and had no problem with that.
OLD BUSINESS
- Brynwood has filed suit against the assessed value of the land taken by
eminent domain. Town Counsel is responding as necessary.
- letter from Cape cod Commission regarding their recent decision.
MINUTES
The Committee will hold approving minutes of December 5th.
* Merry Sue made a motion to approved the executive session minutes
of October 30th. Joe seconded the motion. All members were in
favor 5-0. **
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
Joel Seeley explained the contractor submitted a revised schedule on
December 8th which is being reviewed. However, it appears this schedule
does not take off from where the action plan left off. He also has some
questions as it relates to critical issues.
He asked if it is Stone' s intention that any resources needed to meet the
intent of the schedule will be used?
Costa said once the schedule meets approval , they can then expand on it.
Joel said he is finding that some activities are behind on this new
schedule from 2-6 weeks.
Tom said some items are showing on the critical path which are not
critical . He said without knowing the resources statement it is hard to
say how it will all pan out .
Joel said some critical items are showing float , you can' t have float on
critical items.
Stone said the definition of critical path is it can be expanded within the
program.
Tom disagrees with that definition.
Tom said they are showing August 23rd as the last date for some items ,
which cannot be . He is still working on his comments and will forward them
to Joel when complete.
1
