Joel said even with this new schedule, it appears they are 2-6 weeks
behind, depending on the activity.
Stone explained they are presently heating derrick 1 and heat went on in
derrick 6 today, and goes on it derrick 4 tomorrow.
Joe asked if all steel shop drawing corrections have been made?
Jim said they have not . Repairs are on going.
Joe asked if it is causing coordination problems with mechanicals?
Jim said is will eventually. The combination of weather, holidays , etc .
has slowed things down.
Paul asked Stone (Herb) where they stand on steel?
Herb described the remaining repairs which need to be made , column bases
that have to be drilled, anchor bolt problems . They plan to start door
frame installation and can then move on to drywall .
They will pour concrete on perimeter of derrick 7 and around column bases
on 11 & 12 so they can finish the exterior walls .
They have had a conflict with the survey company and are in the process of
hiring a new surveying company.
Their goal is to have all diamonds poured in 2 weeks .
Roofs : goal is to finish all plates in roof this week.
Paul asked when all exterior walls will be ready for studs and closure?
Herb said the wood blocking person will start on Tuesday and will take
about 2 days . They should be in good shape in 1 week.
Paul said he still sees roof decking to be completed on derrick 11 . What is
the bottom line on the steel being completed.
Herb said 2-3 weeks .
Paul said he is beyond frustrated . This steel problem doesn't seem to get
any better.
Paul asked when the exterior of the building, except for roof, will be
closed?
Herb said 2-3 weeks, by mid- January. He said they put in a tremendous
effort this week to get the sheathing and plastic up.
Paul said the schedule said the building will be closed by December 15 , it
has already slipped by 4-5 weeks. He has a real problem with that . He is
looking at key items and they aren't happening .
Costa said the main focus has been enclosing the academic wing and getting
it on line and then they will fall back on the auditorium and gym.
Paul said this town bought a whole job - and that isn't happening . The
amount of work done is very disappointing .
Paul asked about the brick work.
Herb said the main focus is to get derricks 1-6 enclosed. The mason will
go 300 feet at a time .
Paul said last week, while the mason moved the tarping , they had no
production.
Jim said the mason is catching up to the steel .
Herb said it is a filed sub bidder. There was a question of who owned the
heat which held things up.
2
