Paul advised Mrs . Scalley that road work will be starting soon on
Old Barnstable Road and then again in the fall at the
intersection of 151 .
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
Paul explained that SMMA started their punchlist yesterday. They
worked on the first floor and will be back Thursday for the
second floor.
Joel prepared a letter of SMMA' s punchlist schedule.
Paul said the labs are running a little behind.
Tom Wren said Manny Tavares cannot punch the casework in the labs
because it is not finished yet.
Paul said furniture will go into its proper place, if it can,
when it arrives. The locksmiths will be here next week. Any
classroom that has been punched will be locked.
Tom said he has asked Occuhealth to look at the mechanical room
adjacent to Indian Ed because the office above it has 1" of water
in it. The drywall may have to be stripped.
Tom said the gym is starting to take shape . They may want to
punch the high level first , so if there is any work to be done it
can happen before the floor goes in.
Stone will stabilize the humidity in the gym for 48 hours before
bringing the wood in.
Paul explained the situation with the sound system in the gym to
John Williams . He said what is speced is what is there but it is
not what Steve had wanted.
Janice said it is old fashioned an not very good.
Peter does not think it is too late to change it .
Paul said it becomes a multi trade issue, a major amount of work
and it could hold up the floor.
Ed Frenette said this gym has good acoustical value and we will
not get the usual echo . He was assured this system will be more
than adequate.
Paul suggested having screens put around the speakers so they are
not hit.
Paul said the sewage treatment plant was approved yesterday.
Tom said the contract was sent to Weston and Sampson for
execution.
He also explained the discharge permit required 4 monitoring
wells ; he thinks one could be covered by the loam pile .
Paul said he does not think it is a problem, once the loam is
moved he is sure it will be located.
Tom asked about the hand over of the keys for the plant and fence
from Stone to Weston and Sampons?
2
