Mike explained from June 26 - Aug 25 he will be working in Boston
for the Department of Education working on implementing a
technology plan. He asked to be kept in mind and informed of the
work of this Committee .
Paul mentioned that Mike made all the arrangements for the TV and
tent etc . at the groundbreaking ceremony.
Bob Whritenour joined the meeting briefly to explained he has
received word from town counsel that the Attorney General ' s
office awarded in favor of the town regarding the electrical
subcontractor protest .
He also mentioned he foresees a problem with payments for
Chartwell and has asked town counsel to move the contract along .
Paul said Chartwell knows they are at risk. He has also asked
Chartwell to get in all necessary paperwork and has asked town
counsel to expedite it .
CONSTRUCTTON ADMINISTRATION
Stone has submitted their first draft of a schedule of values and
shop drawing list and a 90 day schedule .
According to the schedule , they were supposed to start clearing
on May 22nd . They are behind,
Joel explained they have completed the flagging . What shows as
clearing and grubbing on the schedule was for the area for the
groundbreaking . The remainder of the clearing will begin next
week.
Paul asked what Mobilization ( on the schedule ) entails?
Joel said getting the trailers on site .
Paul said that was supposed to be May 26th. He is concerned that
they have had 4 weeks of good weather and they haven' t done
anything . SMMA should tell them to get going . 4 weeks have gone
by since signing the contract and nothing has happened .
Jim said they should have their superintendent on site full time
this Monday.
Joel said the notice to proceed was given May 9th so by June 9th
they have to submit a full schedule .
Joe Polito said he will expect to see what is on this chart on
the ground.
Ed said the schedule will be updated monthly.
Jim said the Committee is right to be concerned about the
slipping of this schedule .
Peter asked if Stone should be at this meeting?
Paul explained the Committee agreed they would ask them to attend
when needed .
Jim thinks the Committee should express their concern to Stone .
Paul asked if Stone has had any conversations with Bob Sherman,
Conservation Agent?
3
