should put Greg Taylor in charge of the roof ', <br /> At the school Chartwell worked on in Lexington they had roof problem that <br /> took -4 years to resolve in court} The town will spend $40 , 000 per month <br /> litigating it. <br /> Paul said he will ask the Selectmen to reconsider it but will not waste <br /> time fighting about it. <br /> Ji.m said Dec . , Jan. & Feb, are the worst time of year to install roofs <br /> Alan Scott said they use cold weather adhesive and there are procedures <br /> which must take place where the adhesive is stored at a higher temperature <br /> for a. period of time. It is Stones responsibility to make sure the <br /> installer adheres to SMMA# s specs but they cannot watch the roof 8 hours <br /> per day. <br /> *The committee had no ob'ection to Paul sending the letter to the <br /> Selectmen asking for reconsideration of a roofing inspector. ** <br /> CONTRACTOR'S PAYMENT REQUISITION <br /> **Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval <br /> and payment Stone Builders payment requisition for $1 , 086 , 304 . 00 . <br /> Merry sue seconded the motion. <br /> Paul explained that Stone had submitted a, higher amount ; they were asking <br /> for 100% completion on the steel work which is not the case . He said it <br /> seems things are coming around but he wants to see a much more aggressive <br /> approach. <br /> All members were i n favor of the motion 6-0 .** <br /> Merry Sue said previously there was a problems with shop drawings , is that <br /> Situation clearing up? <br /> Paul said there are a few new people in stone ' s office clearing up shop <br /> drawings ., <br /> She asked if all work is being done on approved sloop drawings? <br /> Alan Scott said a few people got lazy and they are now addressing these <br /> issues . Some drawings were not transmitted properly. They are <br /> concentrating on clearing up their paperwork. <br /> Jim Byrne explained tine fire sprinkler permit was issued with an end date <br /> on it and the Fire Dept . has refused to issue another one without approved <br /> shop drawing s . <br /> Ed Frenette recommended the town hire a roof inspector and do it quickly <br /> with the most respected firm around f A firms l i.ke Simpson Gumpfort has an <br /> expert for every system in the building. The credentials of a. <br /> comprehensive farm will be tested. <br /> Steve asked if the Committee hada received direction from SMMA to take this <br /> particular path. re: roof inspector? <br /> Ed said it was discussed during the process. The committee can buy as much <br /> inspection as they want . MMA' s role .is to observe on a periodic basis and <br /> write tight specs . <br /> Joel said roof inspection services were in the budget <br /> Deter asked why is has to c.ost $40, 000 .9 <br /> 3 <br />
