MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br /> MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE <br /> TUESDAY, JULY 30, 1996 <br /> HIGH SCHOOL SITE <br /> Present: Paul Griffin (Chair) , Joe Polito, Peter Dinizio, Merry <br /> Sue Ahlgren, Janice Mills , Steve Greelish, Bill Martiros <br /> Also Present: Tom Wren, Ian Aitchison, Jim Byrne (all from <br /> Chartwell ) , Joel Seeley ( from SMMA) , John Williams , Dr . DeMoura, <br /> Manual Tavares/TDA, Michael Kerwin/CCR <br /> Meeting convened at 4:15 p.m. <br /> AGENDA ITEMS - DISCUSSION/ACTION: <br /> 1 . Minutes of Previous Meeting and Housekeeping <br /> Merry Sue informed that the Minutes of the Meeting of July 16 , <br /> 1996 , are in error concerning a statement relative to the Cape <br /> Cod Commission. She suggested the "minutes" be reviewed so <br /> they can be corrected and submitted for approval at the next <br /> meeting. Short discussion followed. Tom pointed out the <br /> possibility of a function error in the figure of 14 , 000 which <br /> will have to be checked. <br /> 2 . Construction Progress and Punch List Status <br /> Paul said the Academic Wing seems to be. in fairly good shape; he <br /> explained that it may not be ready for a substantial completion <br /> certificate from the Architect for about two weeks . Joel Seeley <br /> verified. Paul also said he does not feel this will be an issue <br /> concerning the furniture delivery; he has asked Many Tavares to <br /> go over his contract during this meeting. <br /> Paul said the remainder of the building is somewhat of an <br /> unknown; 'there is a question if it will be ready on time. The <br /> following items were discussed: <br /> Paul said the floor of the m was supposed to be started around <br /> July 23rd but has not been started. He explained that the wood <br /> has been moved in . . . the air conditioning system was to be <br /> going, but it may get too cold in there because the heat is not <br /> yet in that area . . . the baseboard is just being installed. <br /> Paul asked if the floor could be started next week. Joel said it <br /> is hard to project . . . there is still a lot of work to be done <br /> . . . prep work, cleaning up, and temperature control. <br /> Paul was informed that the epoxy in the kitchen was started <br /> yesterday. Paul explained there is about one week' s work there; <br /> the kitchen contractor has been asked to start around August 5th <br /> . . . this date may be premature; he has about 7 days of work. <br /> Paul said there is a lot of work to do in the auditorium; the <br /> contractors who were supposed to work this past weekend for <br /> the auditorium work did not show up. We have an executive <br /> meeting tomorrow morning; he has placed a call to the appropriate <br />
