P <br /> MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, MAY 14 , 1996 <br /> HIGH SCHOOL SITE <br /> Present: Steve Greelish, Paul Griffin, Peter Dinizio , Merry Sue <br /> Ahlgren, Joe Polito , Janice Mills <br /> Tom Wren, Jim Byrne , Joel Seeley, John Williams <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 07 p.m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> **Merry Sue made a motion to approve the minutes of April <br /> 30 , 1996 . Steve seconded the motion. Peter abstained , <br /> all other members were in favor 5-0 . ** <br /> Merry Sue asked about the plaque which will go on the building, <br /> who should be on it? <br /> Paul said those people who provided something to this Committee . <br /> This Committee will work on the list, and have to approve it . <br /> The current School Committee and Board of Selectmen will be on <br /> it . <br /> Joel said the Committee will need to get going on that soon, to <br /> get it to Stone. <br /> Paul suggested only this current Committee, plus Bill Jones be on <br /> the plaque . <br /> ** Paul made a motion to add Bill Jones to the sitting <br /> committee of the High School Building Committee, for <br /> purpose of the plaque on the building . Merry Sue <br /> seconded the motion. All members were in favor. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Paul spoke with some of the 8th grade students today. They had <br /> some good questions , about the computers, wood shop. They would <br /> like to visit the site before school opens , John Williams is <br /> pursuing that. He would like for some of the students to see the <br /> building , they don't understand how big it is . They will bring <br /> the positive message home to their parents . <br /> Tom is concerned about the public coming to the site . <br /> Paul said there has been no change in that policy, it is still. <br /> Stone ' s job. <br /> Paul explained he took a detailed tour of the building this <br /> morning with Jim Byrne. He then met with Alan Scott and then <br /> George Gunn. The job has slowed in the last 7-9 days . <br /> They are in the process of laying vinyl the in the main <br /> corridors on the first floor. <br /> Steve asked about moisture issues? <br /> Jim said they have to have ventilation units - temporary or the <br /> permanent system, before laying the tile . <br /> Joel said they need to run the systems . <br /> 1 <br />
