All members were in
favor 5-0**
FF & E Technology
Tom presented status reports from CCR re :
- teacher work stations
internet service provider pricing
- correspondence from Computers without Fear
John Williams explained that last Wednesday 2 people from
Edgestar and a person from Computers Without Fears were present
to install Winschool ( admin software ) on the network. No one from
CIC was here , They were asked for a password and had none so
they had to call CCR and CIC . When they finally go in, it was
just long enough to install in on the server but they cannot call
it up again. Computers Without Fear made a list of the possible
reasons why they can' t access the information off of the server.
He has not heard from Mike Kirwin.
Paul asked John if he was getting the attention of CCR?
John said it doesn' t seem that way.
Dr. DeMoura added that at the last meeting he asked Mike Kirwin
when he expected the system to be up and running . He stated
specifically before Thanksgiving but there has been no one in the
building to make sure that is happening .
John said the computer classrooms are not networked and not
hooked up to printers .
Jim Byrne said CIC is here today but they seem to just be setting
up PCs .
Mike Pietrowski said what seems to be happening is each company
can' t complete their work because one other piece is not done .
All the vendors need to come down here at one time and develop a
plan and then put it in motion. A lot of valuable time is being
wasted.
Joe suggested the Committee send a letter to Mike Kirwin and get
a response as to what he is going to do about it .
Steve said all the pieces are not here yet so it may not be
configured. Computers Without Fear should not be trouble shooting
1
