l <br /> MA EE MGH SCHOOL BUELDING COMMITTEE MPRJTES <br /> WEDNESDAY,DECEMBER 10, 1997 <br /> MGH SCHOOL9 CHARTWELL OFFICE <br /> Present: Paul Griffin,Bill Martiros, Janice NElls, Joe Polito,Merry Sue Ahlgren <br /> Also Present: Jing Byrne, Ian Aitchison,Dr. Del aura, Terrie Cook, Nfike Pietrowski,Mchael <br /> Horne <br /> Meeting convened at 4:12 p.m. <br /> CUTE <br /> Merry Sue-made a motion to accept the minutes of October 9'. Joe seconded the <br /> notion. All members were in favor 5-0 <br /> Front Entry Sign: the letters have arrived and are being fastened to the plate at the welder's. He <br /> should then be able to bolt the plate and have the sign up by next week. <br /> Paul asked about lighting at the entrance. Jim will talk to SQA about it. <br /> Janice said it is a dark intersection, there is a light pole but hasn't been lit. <br /> Don Cook explained the pole on school property was hit by a car. A new pole and fixture have <br /> been ordered. <br /> Paul said Greg Taylor is responsible for the street lighting. ,lira will write him a memo about the <br /> Committee's eonees. <br /> BUDGET <br /> Jim explained the money that remains is after paying all of today"s bills. <br /> He received correspondence from Joel asking to transfer the funds for VHB to Greg Taylor. <br /> After talking with the town accountant, she will set up a line item under the construction <br /> account. <br /> 18 intersection: PA Landers was the low bid for the 15 I intersection work. It has gone to the <br /> Mate and is awaiting the Governor's signature. <br /> Paul explained that he will be recommending to the Committee that they tame a vote of no <br /> confidence against PA Danders and consider putting them in default because of their lack of <br /> work on the outdoor lighting. Our attorney will then send them a letter notifying them of this <br /> action and that we can now cash in their bond. That may get them moving. The issue is with the <br /> electrical contractor. They are saying the manufacturer no longer has some of the parts! <br /> Everything was available when they submitted this but they did not order it. <br /> We are holding$284,000. <br /> Paul made a motion the Committee request the Selectmen declare PA Landers in <br /> default of their contract.
