MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 14, 2418
Mr. Furbush said that the purpose of this meeting was scheduled to discuss any issues
raised from the Planning Board, The Article Bylaw §174-17.1 was not withdrawn by the
ZBA at Town Meeting.
Mr. Furbush noted that the Town Planner was in the audience and asked him his thoughts
on the proposal.
Town Planner, Evan Lehrer agreed that the language he wrote was withdrawn and he
agreed with the vast majority of the comments made to the ZBA has covered any issues
with raze and replace of properties that are in need of rehab. He said one primary
disagreement is about the misconception of the "McMansionization". He is not in
disagreement or in opposition, and believes that the ZBA has been proactive in identifying
language that is both legally sound and will provide the capability for land owners to do
what they need to do with their properties to make them functional and resilient. His only
goal is to make sure that any language regulations voted at the Town Meeting is absorbable
to the community. He said that the Board has done a phenomenal job addressing those
concerns.
Mr. Bonvie once again asked Mary if she was willing to sit down with the ZBA to work
out any concerns prior to town meeting. He stressed the importance of sitting down with
her to get the Planning Board onboard with this proposal. Mary did not respond.
Mr. Furbush thanked the audience for attending.
Ms. Sangeleer made a motion to adjourn, Mr. Pittsley seconded. All were in favor. The
meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
These meeting ruinutes were approved at the
Zoning Board hearings dated lfednesdgK
x .. August 22,2018.
' f
Mary Ann Romero
Administrative Secretary
Zoning Board of Appeals
7
