STUDENT PLACEMENT We believe that the iMashpee Public Schools should be providing every child with the best possible learning environment. There are many variables to consider in the placement process from year to year. it is important to LIS that every child is Successful. Thus, placement must be done by the professional staff. Be assured that each child's specific needs will certainly be considered. BIRTHDAY ARTIES AND PLS YD TES e Staff members are not permitted to distribute phone numbers and/or addresses of StUdents. 0 The school is not permitted to distribute personal invitations to children for birthday parties, play dates, etc. • If a party or plan date is postponed, the school is not responsible for contacting parties involved. Personal business of this nature cannot be conducted during school hours. 0 Students may distribute invitations only if all members of the class are included. GOODIES FOR CELEBRATIONS Please t refer to Wellness Policy at the lack of the handbook to determine acceptable snack options. i All deliveries to the classroom will be made by office personnel only. Goodies coming into school must be store bought and labeled with ingredients. Peanut-safe and other food allergy classrooms may operate differently. Teachers will notify parents guardians in particular classrooms at the beginning of each school year o protocols in those rooms for everyone's safety. SAFETY DRILLS When the fire alarm sounds, we require every adult and student in the school to respond. Students are to: • stop all talking • follow teacher instructions and close all classroom windows and doors while exiting • pass in single file and walk quickly acid quietly to the designated exit remain with their classroom teachers during the entire fire drill unless otherwise instructed. CODE RED DRILLS Emergency drills to keep children safe indoors (requiring classroom lockdown ill be performed a minimum of twice yearly. The children will be int rc ed by the classroom teachers.of this procedure. It is similar to a Fire drill - stop talking, go to a safe place in the classroom designated by the teacher, follow teacher instruction* wait for signal to re LIMe activity throughout the classroom and building.
