There is no cost to the community for Americorps <br /> services. Group service projects in service year 2009 include working <br /> with I lashpee's shellfish constable in the municipal shellfish propagation <br /> program. Additional initiatives include working with the Cape Cod <br /> Commission to conduct tree inventory arra trail and pathway management. <br /> A .ericorps has also assisted the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Service <br /> in their recycling and hazardous waste education and marine program. <br /> Catherine Laurent, Mashpee's DPW Director was motel to be ars asset to <br /> the Americorps for her assistance and detailed documentation in the <br /> recycling and hazardous waste education program. <br /> Project ideas and guidelines can be found on the Ar. ericorps Cape Cod <br /> website wvm7.rdo c,or . <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Request ofTown Manager—Increase Number of Senior Tax pro a�xrY <br /> Positions: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Town tanager dated December <br /> 17, 2009 relative to the Senior Work-off Program. Mrs. Mason has r <br /> recommended the Selectmen consider increasing the number ofSenior- <br /> orl -off program positions by two to designate specific assistance to the <br /> new Mashp e Library to offset staffing needs. <br /> In the Senior Work-off Program, seniors receive their payment in lieu of <br /> real estate taxes. Currently, there are 35 Senior Work-off Positions in the <br /> Ton of Mashpee. The program increase has been reviewed and <br /> approved by the Town Assessor for implementation. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalan to increase the Senior Work-off <br /> Tax Program by 2 staffing to be designated specifically cally to the <br /> Mashpee Library only until further notice. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Richardson. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
