4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 21, 2011 <br /> NEW BUSMSS. <br /> Recommendation for Contract Extension—.Rental of Portable Toilets: <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to extend the annual contract for the <br /> Mental of Portable Toilets to Rouse House for CY12 as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -o. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Taylor,yes Selectman Richardson,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahalane yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes opposed,none <br /> L USINESS,: <br /> flash a wA b Dake Mmuement Committee Discussion: <br /> Barbara Nichols,a member of the Mashpee-Wakeby Lake Management <br /> Committee was preset to update the Selectmen on recent committee activities. <br /> In concern towards the high water levels and subsequent erosion of the shoreline, <br /> the Mashpee wakeby Lake Management Committee was formed in.1996. <br /> he lake level is monitored and,reported to the Conservation Department on a bi- <br /> weekly basis as is the height of the stream below the dam and the sand build-up <br /> downstream from the fish way. The MVVLM.Committee is also involved in the <br /> tracking of bass tournaments. Issues and reconumendations to be addressed are <br /> reported to the Harbormaster and/or Police Department. Presently,the MV <br /> Committee has recommenced the boating rules be posted in Portuguese. <br /> bi-annual newsletter is printed by the Mashpee Wakeby Lake Management <br /> Committee to promote sound environmental practices,and educate the public on <br /> safe boating procedures and to encourage awaren ss of invasive plitnt species. <br /> For informational purposes,the newsletter is also pasted on the Town"s website. <br /> The Board of Selectmen expressed appreciation to the I lashpee wakeby Lake <br /> Management Coax for their update. It is hopeful i ' <br /> the future the own will <br /> have representation on all of hash 's lakes and ponds. Options to gain public <br /> interest were briefly reviewed. It was suggested the Harbormaster may be the <br /> catalyst to chair and/or attend association meetings to seep interest and <br /> representation for a future lake and pond reporting group. At this time,the matter <br /> was taken under advisement. <br />
