Board of Selectmen <br /> Mutes <br /> November 21, 2011 <br /> APPOINTMENTS HEARINGS <br /> 5 ' <br /> Applicants for Capital 1mvrovement Cottee: <br /> The Board of Selectmen received two letters of interest in response to <br /> advertisement to fill the Capital hnroe e t Committee vacancy for a member- <br /> at-large. The following candidates were interviewed; <br /> Terrie Cook, a former member of the Board of Selectmen and representative to <br /> the Capita Improvement Program CIP Committee met with the Selectmen to <br /> discuss her interest in serving on the committee in the upcoming budget cycle. <br /> Mn. Cook indicated she served the CIP as the Selectmen's liaison,and found the <br /> experience gratifying. However, with the increased response to the vacancy, Mrs. <br /> Cook indicated it is time for a fresh pair of eyes, and stated at this time she did not <br /> wish to be considered for the position. Prior to stepping down from the CIP, Mrs. <br /> Cook made note of the Tr ost recent achievement of the CIP,the $1.5 million <br /> i dollar bond earmarked for infrastructure hnproveme <br /> nts. yrs. Cook indicated it is <br /> satisfying to see many of the capital projects that have been discussed over the <br /> past few years cone to fruition. <br /> In response,the Burd of Selectmen expressed appreciation to Mrs. Cook for her <br /> dedicated service to the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Daniel McGarry, a former educator and Verizon manager and engineer indicated <br /> he also served on the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Stoughton for twelve <br /> ears in addition to serving as a member of the New seabury Homeowners <br /> Association Board of Directors. <br /> Mr. McGarry indicated it is important to be proactive in the budget process and to <br /> develop strategic capital budget planning for now and in the future.years. <br /> Notion made h Selectnian Cah lane to appoint Daniel McGarry y to the <br /> Capital Improvement Program Committee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Richardson. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -o# <br /> Moll Call vote: <br /> Selectman Taylor,yes Selectman Richardson,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahaiane,yes <br /> Selectman 'Mara,yes Opposed, none <br />
