Mr. York <br /> indicated the least r*sk scenario is purchasing l"seed and to conduct ongomg <br /> monitoring. <br /> Mr. York added that soon he will know if funding for the Oyster Bay Reef grant <br /> is obtained. The grant would produce an estimated 12 Ilion oysters for harvest <br /> wWm 10 acres of Popponesset Bay, and remove 6 tons of nitrogen from the <br /> enbaynent M' addition to restoring and creating jobs to improve the <br /> economy. <br /> tiW.BUSINESS: <br /> Residential Tax Rate Discussion• <br /> .t the request of Selectman Gottlieb,the matter of shining the tax burden to <br /> seasonal homeowners was,brought up for discussion. Selectman Gottlieb <br /> recon ended that a working group be formed to review the possible re- <br /> apportionment of the tax burden from year round residents to seasonal residents. <br /> T his would empower the Town to provide up to a 20%exemption from taxation <br /> for a residential property equating to approximately $800 in saes to an average <br /> year-round residence. <br /> Selecnan Gottliebindicated thatapproximately2/3 of hones in Mashpee are <br /> primary, the remairlin 1 rd are seasonal.
