t• <br /> will consult with Joyce Mason on as to an appropriate location for display of the plaques in the Town <br /> Hall main lobby. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion re: FY2016 Increases in contract Budgets <br /> Gall Wilson reported that at her budget meeting with Town Manager Joyce Mason: Assistant Town <br /> Manager Toni Mayo, Town Accountant Dawn Thayer, Finance Committee Chairman Mark Davinr: <br /> and Selectman John CahaIane, it was decided that the budgeted amount for the Hunan services <br /> contracts world be increased from $26, 075 to $35,000. The committee members then began a <br /> discussion as to how best to divide the increased funds among the contracts. After considering a <br /> number of possible options, the Committee decided to reinstate the Big Brother/Big Sister contract <br /> for$ o. A"Special reeds Fund" was proposed to the amount of$1400. <br /> The committee members agreed upon the necessity for the establishment of a Herman services <br /> needs criterion to be used as a benchmark for consideration of the requests that are made for funds <br /> from the Human services budget. <br /> Janice Walford stated that at the Human Services budget meeting she stressed the need for <br /> establishment of a I lashpee service Center, to meet the growing needs of the community. <br /> • <br /> Coordinator's Report rt- Highlights <br /> Gail Wilson reported that an additional 200 Human services brochures for the department would <br /> .cost $119 with a 15% discount; boo brochures would cost$180. The committee agreed that 500 <br /> brochures should be ordered, with a 15% discount. <br /> Gail Wilson serves on a Human Rights Commission subcommittee concerned with bullying* and has <br /> been asked to write one of a series of three articles on bullying that will appear in the Cape Cod <br /> Times. After review by the Human Services committee, Ills. Wilson will submit an article to the <br /> Times. <br /> Gail Wilson reported that Peter Shea, school Psychologist, requested that she be included on a <br /> panel for the Family Wellness Conference at the l lashpee High School on .fan. 21s'. The focus for <br /> discussion will be binge drinking, substance abuse, and mental health. Other panel members: <br /> Congressman Bill Keating, Flay Tamasi, and Mashpee Police Chief Rodney Collins. <br /> Gail Wilson's column in the r lashpee Enterprise for January will focus on the topic of seasonal <br /> Affective Disorder (SAD). Ms. Wilson welcomed Ideas from the committee for the article. Janice <br /> Watford reminded Gail Wi[so n to urge inclusion of her title and credentials at the end of her articles <br /> submitted. <br /> ERCT MEETING <br /> The next meeting of the Human services Committee was scheduled for Thursday, February 20th, at <br /> PM. Members of the Il ashpee Cares Committee will be invited to join the meeting at 3:30 PM. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> As there was no further business, John Cahalane moved that the meeting be adjourned.
