Ms. Wilson <br /> distributed a flow chart of all the agencies attending these meetings. There is a Cape Cod Grant <br /> Writers Collaborative available for assistance. Gail Wilson stated that these meetings are extremely <br /> informative and very helpful. <br /> - Food Drier May 5th Town Meeting: Gail Wilson reported that the response was a tremendous <br /> success. Glen Harrington and veronica Warden n together distributed the entire food donations to the <br /> designated recipients. A thank you to both Glen Harrington and Veronica Warden will be sent. <br /> Social Services Director for Town of Scituate — Laura Minh <br /> Gail Wilson reported receipt of a call from Laura Mini r, the new social services Director for the <br /> Town of Scituate. Ms. Mini r has requested assistance from the Mashpee Human Services for <br /> guidance in getting organized. The committee agreed to invite Ms. Minier to a future Human <br /> Services committee meeting. <br /> - Lee Minn ll Recognized. Ms. Minn llo, Barnstable County Environmental Engineer, passed <br /> away following the birth of twin boys, both of whom are doing well. M . Minnello was involved in the <br /> Mid-Cape Hoarding Task Force which is now called the Cape Cod Hoarding Task Force. <br /> Cape Cod Times Article— Gail Wilson's article, "How Parents Can Help Fight Bullying" appeared <br /> in the Cape Cod Times last week. <br /> Guest Speaker:er: Kar n Gardner, CEO, Community Healthy Center of Cape Cod HCCC <br /> Karen Gardner introduced herself to the committee, and distributed copies of"NEW IN 2014: CHC <br /> AT A GLACE. Ms. Gardner stated that CHCCC is a non-profit federally qualified health center <br /> serving adults, children and families on the Upper Cape. Patients with MassHealth, Commonwealth <br /> Care, Medicare, private insurance, or no insurance at all are all welcome. <br /> Ms. Gardner reported that the services offered at the CHC include: primary care, women's & family <br /> health; dental care; -psychiatry, behavioral'health assessments & counseling; pharmacy; case <br /> management/patient navigation; insurance enrollment assistance; teen & adolescent services. <br /> Special Programs include comprehensive diabetes caret veterans' partnership; youth suicidal <br /> prevention project; specialty clinics in cardiology, optometry, endocrinology & psychiatry; wheelchair <br /> accessible dental service; addiction recovery treatment. Specialty care services including <br /> dermatology and optometry are needed and are in,the plans for expansion. <br /> Ms. Gardner reported that there are 15,000 enrolled patients with Primary Care the primary service <br /> provided. There are 2000 patients from Mash ee, with 10% of those uninsured. Fifteen percent of <br /> the Mashpee patients are over the age of 55. The status of the waiting fist for psychiatric counseling <br /> has improved, with five fulltime behavioral staff and three additional new hires. Transportation is ars <br /> issue; the CHCC is working with the Department of Transportation to provide for pickup service at a <br /> cost of$ 1.50. <br /> Caren Gardner stated that there are 300 v arnpanoag Tribal m.emb rs still patients of CHC of Cape <br /> Cod_ <br /> 2 <br />
