Elinor GInr seconded the ration. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> * Discussion about Potential Grants <br /> Fruth Elias reported that Janice Walf rd, Gail Wilson and she met with Julie Ferguson, Director, <br /> Barnstable Community Development program, to learn about the process of applying for grants. <br /> The Community Development staff works throughout the Cape; they will assist with research for <br /> grants that are applicable to one's reeds; and they will write the grant, all at no fee. If the grant is <br /> received, and they administer the grant, there would be a fee. <br /> Lynne Waterman stated that it is important to have in mind what we are looking for in a grant, i.e., <br /> what would the funds be used for. The Committee members offered some ideas as to how Human <br /> Services would utilize grant money, including community outreach, and expansion of contract <br /> amounts. Th& committee member will think about ideas for grant usage for further di cus icn.at <br /> the next Human Services meeting. Gail Wilson will contact the Falmouth Service Center for their <br /> input on grant usage. <br /> Mary Scanlan stated that it is important to think about how to deal with the void wrh nrant-money <br /> g y <br /> runs out. John Cahalane reminded the committee that any grant applications must go through the <br /> Board of Selectmen for their approval before submitting the application, and that there is a <br /> substantial amount of paperwork involved in the grant process once the grant is approved. <br /> 1 <br />
