It was mentioned that a great deal of <br /> money was being spent on this Town project and it was hoped that the architects were utilliing the <br /> experience in the town to draw up and build ars adequate structure. It was again stressed that <br /> importance of having a good wide ramp, nearly o'and a center ramp and float system that would aid in <br /> the safe launch and recovery of boats and their occupants.Tim Leedham mentioned the number of <br /> injuries that-have occurred when operators have tried to exit their boats after maneuvering therm on to <br /> their trailers and not having a ramp or float to step on to,but deciding to step over the side of their <br /> boats onto the wet and slippery trailers.Al Wickel also mentioned the increased safety of the sprit ramp <br /> system for handicapped usage allowing both launches and recovery operations during high use periods. <br /> Rick York said he would follow up this discussion with a review of the plans as they stood at this time. <br /> Notification by the Town to begin construction had not been received by this Commission. <br /> New Business. <br /> Don Barton asked if there were efforts by the town to help educate the citizens of Mashpee in the <br /> watershed areas and along the coast on the damaging use of fertilizers. Rick York responded that the <br /> Env!ro n menta I oversight Committ ,that he was a me m be r of,could utilize Mashpee TV,the <br /> Enterprise,the Town's web site and other community outreach programs to spread the best <br /> management practices concerning fertilizer usage. <br /> gots to adjourn was made by Stanton Healy and 2nd by Tire Le dham at 10:26 AM.
