TOPICS <br /> (This scis reserved for topics that the Charman did not reasonably anticipate would b <br /> discussed) <br /> Memorial Plaque. <br /> Carey Murphy reviewed the history of the memorial plaque, which was originally installed at the <br /> Park on Dec. 13, 2005. In December of 2008, the plaque was reported stolen from the boulder at <br /> the Park. The Committee contacted Baker Memorial and was told they still had the original plaque <br /> that contained a spelling error That had been corrected on the stolen plaque. Baker Memorial <br /> offered to give us the plaque free of charge if the committee agreed to pay for the installation. The <br /> Committee agreed to pay for the installation but for various reasons the installation was never <br /> completed. <br /> The Baker Monument company subsequently was purchased by Grafton Briggs, who agreed to <br /> honor the installation agreement and complete the installation by the fall of 2011. Over <br /> Thanksgiving, 2011, Baker Monument was vandalized, and the plaque once again was stolen. <br /> Grafton Briggs is claiming that they are not liable for the loss of the plaque, be'Cause it was not their <br /> property. <br /> Wayne Taylor recommended that the Committee send a letter to Joyce Mason, and copy Wayne <br /> Taylor, outlining the history of the plaque, with a request for review byTown Counsel Patrick <br /> Costello. Jeri Smith agreed to write the letter to the Town Manager. <br /> anager. <br /> Jeri smith stated that she will void the original check written to Baker Memorial for the amount of <br /> the plaque installation. <br /> Role of the State Park Advisory Committee <br /> ' <br /> A brief discussion ensued regarding the role of the torr mittee in conjunction with WBI ER . John <br /> Singleton stated that WBNERR is not responsible for fulfilling the state's master plan for the Park. <br /> IIIb. Singleton reminded the Committee that during the September 2011 meeting at the Park, he <br /> had pointed out his plans for the placement of the changing facilities and had received approval <br /> from the Commiftee members at that time. <br /> NEXT MEETING <br /> The nett meeting of the South cape Beach State Park Advisory Committee was scheduled for <br /> Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at 5:00 PM, llllashpee Town Full.
