Regarding the wheelchair to the beach, Mr. Singleton stated that the mat being installed for wheelchair use at the <br /> Town Beach wiII not work for the Park beach, because mu#tiple rnats would be required to navigate the path to the <br /> beach. Gus Frederick has information about a more efficient wheelchair that would work letter at the State Park, <br /> .and Mr. Singleton will be investigating the possibility of acquiring one for the Park. <br /> Mr. Singleton stated that the dumpster at the beach is emptied each Friday; the latrines are cleaned.twice a day. <br /> There are'three latrines—one handicap, and two regular. <br /> Regarding ills Work Toad, Mr. Singleton's goal is to improve the road for police cruiser access. Steve Pinard complimented Mr. Singleton for <br /> being proactive and doing an excellent job, and stated than the beach looks very much improved <br /> REVIEW of MINUTES <br /> Steve Pinard rade a motion n that the minutes from the meeting held on May 15, 2012 be approved as presented. <br /> -Robert Lancaster seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> MEMORIAL PLAQUE <br /> Jeralyn Smith distributed copies of a letter submitted to the Board of Selectmen, dated Kay 21, 2012. To date, no <br /> response has been received from the Selectmen. (copy of letter attarched <br /> COMMITTEE RE-APP NTI ENT PROCESS <br /> Members of theCommittee-who are Il ashpee residents are required to submit a letter to the Board of Seiectmen <br /> each'year requesting re-appointment to the Committee. Jeralyn Smith provided the Ma tepee committee <br /> members with an appropriate letter that could-be used for their action. <br /> The Board of Selectmen has recently announced that no member of an elected or appointed Board or Committee <br /> shell serge as chairman for more than one consecutive year. Jeralyn Smith stated than she checked with the <br /> Town Clerk about the length of terms that members were appointed. The Act.passed by the Commonwealth of <br /> Massachusetts etts specifies -year terms and the Burd of Selectmen appointed them to one-year terms. The <br /> question was raised by the committee members as to whether the ruling applies to the State Park committee <br /> since the committee was organized by the State. This issue needs to be c.larified by the Town counsel. <br /> COMMITTEE SEAT VACANCY <br /> Jeralyn Smith stated that the Tern will need to advertise the vacancy for.two weeks.prior to any appointment to <br /> the committee. Ills.
