�'S65i'ry O Town oas p - e <br /> ,.e ., e <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> SOUTH CAPE BEACH STATE PARK <br /> ADVISORY COMMITTEE - PUBLIC SESSION <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL - MEETING ROOM 2 <br /> Notes from the Meeting of Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 <br /> (NO QUORUM) <br /> Committee Members Present: Members Absent: <br /> Jeralyn Smith, Chairman Gus Frederick <br /> Michael Cardeiro, Vice Chairman Lance Lambros <br /> Perry Ellis, Clerk Robert Lancaster <br /> William Martiros Carey Murphy <br /> Lewis Newell Steven Pinard <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Jeralyn Smith called the meeting to order at 6:10 PM, announcing no quorum present. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT - None. <br /> REVIEW OF MINUTES <br /> Review of the minutes from the 7110112 meeting was tabled to the next committee meeting with a <br /> quorum present. <br /> MEMORIAL PLAQUE UPDATE <br /> Jeralyn Smith reported on an update from Mashpee's Town Counsel with the decision that Grafton <br /> Briggs is not obligated to replace the second stolen plaque. <br /> For the record, a brief history of the memorial plaque follows: <br /> 1) December 13, 2005: a granite memorial stone with a bronze plaque was installed at the <br /> South Cape Beach State Park, produced by Baker Memorial Co. and donated by Jack Cramer. <br /> (The installed plaque was a replacement for the first plaque produced by Baker Memorial, which <br /> had a misspelled name.) <br /> 2) The bronze plaque installed on 12/13/05 was subsequently stolen from the Park, and Baker <br /> Memorial agreed to replace the plaque free of charge with their first plaque made with the <br /> misspelled name, at a cost to the committee of just the installation fee. The committee members <br /> donated $110 toward the installation costs. <br /> 3) Baker Memorial subsequently sold out to Grafton Briggs who now was in possession of the <br /> plaque with the misspelled name. A year later, Grafton Briggs was vandalized, and the plaque in <br /> their possession was stolen. <br /> 1 <br />
