Rick york was not able to attend due to date change of the meeting,but did provide the <br /> following: <br /> I will not be able to attend the Waterways Commission meeting tomorrow because of <br /> concurrent Shellfish Officers meeting*I can report the followning: <br /> The oyster harvesting is going well.We planted the b million quahog seed in the sand <br /> under'nets in Great River last month. <br /> The Town of Falmouth closed the Falmouth side ofwaquoit Bay for shell fishing from <br /> November 30 through April 30 except that scalloping is allowed through:Numb 31.This is a <br /> management closure.The l ashpee side of Waquoit Bay remains open for shell fishing. <br /> A boat sank in Little River on December 2. Rapid response by the Harbormaster and Fire <br /> Department contained the fuel spill (the Coast Guard also responded).The Mass.Division <br /> of Marine Fisheries was prepared to close the area to shell fishin&but that was not <br /> necessary because the spill was contained in the absorbent boom.A photo is attached. <br /> Rick York <br /> l shpee Wa eby Report: <br /> Bill Taylor said that they had put out a publication recently and the Asian Clare issue is still <br /> open.Kerr Bates noted that the lady who called and the group she represents(all we have is <br /> a name and phone##) could use the funds her group has to establish a study(possibly with <br /> BLAST)as she has not returned our calls. Identify where these clams are in the pond and <br /> then establish an objective of what process to use to get rid of there. <br /> Public Access Update: <br /> Iden bates reported he ha'd done site review of several Falmouth boat ramps.The Great <br /> River Boat Ram project,along with parting and the approach,is now running with <br /> - p <br /> surveying underway.The review included Steve Mone,'Torn Mayo,Catherine Laurent and <br /> Greg Fraser. <br /> Popponesset Bay/Waquoit Ray report: No new information. <br /> Sewer Committee: <br /> Don MacDonald reported that the Sewer Commission reviewed the recent Phase 2 <br /> Certificate.Additionally,the legislation to establish the Mashpee water and Sewer District <br /> has been reported favorably by the joint Committee on Municipalities and.Regional <br /> Government and is moving swiffly to the Steering Committee.'there is no date yet for this <br /> change over to occur. <br /> Dredging. <br /> Ken Bates stated that Great River/Little River dredgiongis completed.He is waiting for the <br /> post dredge survey from the County Dredge Team.He will then send out his formal <br /> notification to the COE and the Mate. <br /> A vote to adjourn was made by by Bill Taylor and 2.nd by Paul Zammito at 10:28 AM.
