I
[Agenda topic ] Feedback on Lowell Holly Beach
Closure
Discussion: Diane Lang, Superintendent of Dowell Holly, reported no unruly people but she did have 4
men who camped on the beach Memorial Day weekend. Saturday, they had a bonfire at 8 AM.- Diane
noted that she has a full time ranger on weekend days and another gentleman who makes random night
checks. Debi offered to call Diane if she noted further fires on the beach, as she has a good view of the
area from her hone. Occasional boats have landed on the beach but no great numbers. Debi and Barbara
reported the lake boat traffic much reduced on the weekends, as did Andrew Gottlieb, Selectman Liaison,
who emailed, but was unable to attend the meeting. The Harbormaster does not start regular patrols until
July 1". Mary Bradbury of Recreation Dept. emailed that they were compiling data and would report more
after July4th. An additional Port a John was installed at the ramp by the State. The ramp attendants
i reported no major issues thus far. Some boaters, disappointed in the beach closure, suggested they would-
not be using the ramp given that they cannot land on the beach.
i
n u far.
Conclusions.- Less weed end boat traffic has been noted thus . .
[Agenda topic 41 Spring Newsletter r'
Discussion: Barbara sent the Spring Newsletter t Joyce for her approval which-vias received on May 27'x'.
p g
Twenty copies of the newsletter were obtained from the Town and are slowly being placed in the racks at
Town Hall. Barbara was concerned that the racks do not have the visibility that the ones in the foyer had
previously. The committee would like to get the newsletters on display by the sticker office. The
newsletter has also been emailed to David Delvecchio of Information Technology to have it placed on our
committee site on the Town web page.
Conclusions: The Spring newsletter is available at the town Hall and online.
r [Agenda topic ] MWL M Committee Vacancies.,
Discussion: Discussion was held about possible replacements for the two vacancies on our committee.
Diane lung wondered if residency in Mashpee was required to be on the committee. She knew of a good
candidate who lived on wak by Lake but 1s a Sandwich resident. Barbara will check with Joyce Mason.
r
Conclusions: Two vacancies remain on the committee.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:29 P.M.
Respectfully submitted, _
Barbara B. Nichols
