Nichols <br /> Attendees: Members: Brian Mauro, Barbara Nichols, Don MacDonald, Linda Smith <br /> Guests: Andrew Gottlie , Selectman Liaison, Stephen Mone, Harbormaster-, <br /> Diane Lang TTR <br /> The minutes of the Septernberl 8, 2014 meeting were accepted as written after a motion by Debi <br /> McManus and second by Brian Mauro. <br /> Agenda topics <br /> i <br /> [Agenda topic 11 rake level/River outflow } <br /> k P. =. <br /> took the lake measurements on October 0 and 15th. Both were ft. above sea level <br /> Discussion: Barbara <br /> with 8 inches of water flowing over the board closest to the lake. There was 4.5 inches of water in the <br /> stream by the stairs, and many small herring were seen leaving the lake. The recent rain storms should <br /> increase the lake levels next month. <br /> Measurements were sent to Drew McManus in Conservation. Barbara also asked him for c4arification on <br /> here he removed the boards last month. Barbara also let him know that the pathway to the fishway was <br /> growing in with poison ivy and bushes. Drew responded.that the boards were removed at the top of the <br /> concrete ladder by Mill Pond to allow the herring to leave the lake. He also stated that he would ask DPW <br /> to clear the pathway when they removed sand from the strearn by the jetties next spring. <br /> Conclusions: The lake level remains low, but recent rains should increase it. <br /> [Agenda topic 2]Fall Newsletter <br /> Discussion: Barbara had articles on the new members of the committee and Fanwort, the invasive species. <br /> Linda suggested one about leaves leading to phosphorus increase in the lake. Andrew suggested asking - <br /> Mr. Eichner to ate something about the water duality testing of Mashpee & Wakeby over the years. } <br /> Debi will write something on the new Town ordinance to limit nitrogen use in fertilizers. Linda asked- f; <br /> about funding to mail the newsletter. It was suggested that we ask the Town for a$500 appropriation to <br /> cover the cost of mailing two issues a year. The committee voted -o to ask for the ftmding. <br /> Conclusion: Barbara will email Andrew, as Selectman to request the funds for mailing from the Town. <br />
