MASHPEE WATERWAYS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> February 11th, 2014 Meeting <br /> The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ken Bates at :00 AM in the <br /> Popponesset meeting room., Mashpee Town Nall. <br /> Present were: Ken Bates,Tim Leedham, Bill Taylor and Paul Zammito. <br /> Absent:Al Wickel,Steve Pinard and Don McDonald <br /> Also present: Mike Richardson and Rick York <br /> Minutes of December 10th, 2013: Motion was made by Bill Taylor to approve <br /> minutes, 2nd by Paul Zarnmito and unanimously approved. <br /> m * ations.&CorLespgadgngg <br /> Post dredge survey for Waquoit Bay was passed around for review and an <br /> invoice for Barnstable County Dredge a Group for $21,000. Chairman Bates asked for <br /> vote to approve invoice so the Commission could notify the Board of Selectmen to <br /> pay the invoice. Bill Taylor motioned for approval to submit invoice, 2nd by Tire <br /> Leedham and unanimously approved. <br /> Also circulated was a complete set of documents for the Mashpee Neck <br /> Marina project. The Conservation Commission has voted unanimously to approve <br /> project and it now moves to the ZBA for approval.Tim Leedh m offered to answer <br /> any additional questions. Rickor asked if there were any plans for a pump-out <br /> station included in the proposal.Tire indicated there was not,but he intended to <br /> have one and would add that language to the document prior to Z A meeting. <br /> &rbormasLer Report <br /> None <br /> he 15h.-Rnont <br /> o <br /> Grantp ro owls submitted to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation <br /> (NFWF) on January 31 included funding to create 10 acres of oyster reefs in the <br /> Popponesset Bay system (including the Mashpee River,Shoestring Bay). One <br /> proposal submitted by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) includes, <br /> participation of the Town,Tribe and UMass Dartmouth. Another proposal <br /> submitted by the Town of wellfleet,would provide oyster seed (set on shell) to the <br /> Town of Mashpee through the Barnstable County Cooperative Extension. The <br /> Mashpee Conservation, Shellfish and Waterways Commissions would be involved is <br /> either or both of the proposals are funded. The reefs would be created with clean <br /> clam shell (surf lam with oyster seed (spat) set on shell at the hatchery placed on <br />
