Page 9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 27, 1994 <br /> COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Department Heads Reporting to the Board of Selectmen: <br /> To increase productivity and promote public awareness, Selectman <br /> Caffyn recommended to obtain input from Department Heads on a <br /> regular basis. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro indicated that he views this subject matter as the <br /> Executive Secretary's role and responsibility unless the issue is specific <br /> and requires the Board's attention. <br /> Selectman Mills indicated that she is in agreement with Selectman <br /> Vaccaro's recommendation. Mr. Whritenour will notify the Board <br /> regarding scheduled department head meetings. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to support Department Heads <br /> reporting to the Board of Selectmen two times per year to be <br /> scheduled as an early agenda item to promote public awareness. <br /> No second. Motion does not carry. <br /> Utilization of Harbormaster & Animal Control Officer on Detail: <br /> Discussion followed relative to the use of the Harbormaster and Animal <br /> Control Officer as Special Police Officers for detail work. <br /> No action to the above. Harbormaster and Animal Control Officer to <br /> remain as appointed Special Police Officers for the town. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to Joe Polito working for the Building <br /> Inspector while being employed by the Assessors Department. <br /> No action to the above. It was noted that Mr. Polito was compensated <br /> during the transition period from each department for hours worked. <br /> Status of Military Assistance for Work on John's Pond & <br /> Removal of Foundation from Heritage Park: <br /> Status discussed as earlier agenda item. <br /> Attendance Records of Committee & Commission Members: <br /> Selectman Mills directed the Executive Secretary to submit a memo to <br /> all board secretaries regarding minutes. All minutes should be filed in a <br /> timely fashion. Copies shall be submitted to the Office of the Board of <br /> Selectmen and Town Clerk. Minutes should also be consistent and accurate <br /> *A copy of committee guidelines shall be included in the memorandum. <br />
