Page 7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 22, 1994 <br /> U.S. Fish and Wildlife re: Proposed National <br /> Wildlife Refuge: <br /> Selectman Costa indicated that the proposed National Wildlife Refuge <br /> is a unique opportunity to develop a first time partnership between the <br /> town, state and federal government to create a national wildlife refuge <br /> area for protection. <br /> Ms. Vartertsian requested the Board send letters of support to <br /> Senator's Kennedy, Kerry and Rauschenbach and Representative Cahir <br /> and Congressman Studds. Members of the public were also invited <br /> to submit letters of support to the national wildlife refuge proposal. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Vaccaro to authorize the Chairman <br /> of the Board of Selectmen to send letters of support on <br /> behalf of the Board of Selectmen re-affirming support of <br /> the U.S. Fish and Wildlife proposal as outlined. Motion <br /> seconded by Selectman Caffyn. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Acceptance of Kennel Contract Bid: <br /> June Daley,Animal Control Officer was present to request the Board <br /> award the Town's Kennel Contract to the qualified low bidder, the <br /> Animal Inn. <br /> It was noted that the total three year bid cost for the Animal Inn is <br /> $1.0,750. The kennel cough inoculations charge will be$9.00 and <br /> the rabies inoculations charge will be $10.00 for FY 95, 96 and 97. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to award the three year <br /> Kennel Contract to the Animal Inn as recommended. Motion <br /> seconded by Selectman Costa. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE: <br /> Request to send three Furnishings Subcommittee Members to <br /> conference in New Orleans: <br /> Peter Dinizio, Chairman of the Jr/Sr High School Building Committee <br /> requested the Board's consideration to send three members of the <br /> Furnishings subcommittee to a furniture and equipment conference in <br /> New Orleans. The cost factors are not known to date. <br /> As noted by Mr. Dinizio, the consulting fees for the above were <br /> not contained in the architectural contract. It was noted that the architect <br /> will assist the committee with colors and furniture specifications. <br />
