She related to the Board that she was insulted <br /> by a Town secretary who later apologized for her behavior. <br /> Greg Taylor,Director of Public Works indicated that he will discuss <br /> this issue directly with Ms.Hanley. <br /> y <br /> Paul Lumsden recommended the Board co = <br /> mmend the Police Department <br /> for their professional manner of response during I P g a recent tragedy. <br /> Selectman ectman Vaccaro indicated that the Fie Department also deserves <br /> commendation for their professionalism. <br /> Communication from Beautification ' <br /> Council: _ <br /> Jane Coogan was present on behalf of the Beautification ' <br /> t ficatYon �ouncll to ;. <br /> request the Board procure a water buffalo from the Air National Guard <br /> for the purpose of watering plant material located within the Town. <br /> Two water tank units await the application - <br /> sign off by a Town <br /> indicated ndicated Ms. Coogan. The cost of the equipment and <br /> related insurance f <br /> fee's will be borne by the Beautification tification Council <br /> if approved by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> It was noted that the tanks have the capacity ' <br /> p y of holding I000 gallons . <br /> of water and can be purchased for the sum of$5o each. <br /> Greg Taylor, Director of Public Works wasre n ' <br /> p se t to discuss this <br /> concern with the Board. Mr. Taylor indicated that his department does- <br /> not <br /> support then P <br /> pp ted for one or two water tanks. <br /> The DPW stores equipment for other Town entities and does not want <br /> to further impact limited space with storage for private organizations. <br /> . � P g <br /> The DP's supports the beautification projects, but does not feel there is <br /> a need for this type of equipment. <br /> Mr. Taylor noted that the DPW has a small sprayer th i ' <br /> at is utilized to <br /> water plant material that is located within Town in an efficient manner. <br /> Selectman Caffyn indicated that the Town of Sandwich ' <br /> uses this type <br /> of watering equipment that has proved to be effective. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro indicated that the water tanks could be utilized for <br /> civil defense purposes in an emergency situation. <br />
