Page 3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 14, 1995 <br /> NEW B JAS INESS: <br /> Acceptance of Voting Equipment Bid: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Mills to approve and d award the <br /> bid as received from Business Records Corporation for <br /> four (4) optical Scan Voting Machines for the sum of <br /> $21,000 as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Dinizio. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. . <br /> -Selectman Vaccaro abstained. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> Water District Commissioners: <br /> Ed Baker was present on behalf of the Water District Commissioners <br /> to request the Board execute the First Addendum to the Memorandum <br /> of Agreement between the Mashpee Water District and the National <br /> Guard Bureau. <br /> Mr.Baker indicated that the Board of Water District Commissioners ss overs have <br /> been negotiating the First Addendum to the Memorandum of Agreement <br /> with Michael Minior, � <br /> ,Project Manager for the Department of Defense <br /> Negotiations for approximately ten months. <br /> It was noted that as part of the"Intermunicipal Agreement," the B <br /> Ppard <br /> authorized the Mashpee Water District to negotiate with the Department <br /> of Defense. <br /> The Mashpee Water District feels the addendum is a fair ' <br /> and equitable . <br /> settlement based upon contract conditions indicated Mr.Baker. It was <br /> noted that the National Guard Bureau and Mashpee Water District <br /> entered into a cooperative agreement in December of 1991 concerning <br /> the construction f <br /> o a permanent water system for the residents of East <br /> and West Briarwood. <br /> Mr. Baker indicated that the Scope of Funding and Cost is amended to <br /> add the East and West Briarwood Distribution System and Well Site. <br /> The Government shall a the remaining 50]0 of the cost of connecting <br /> . P, y g <br /> the residents in West Briarwood who have incurred the expense within <br /> two years from the date of the original agreement indicated Mr. Baker. <br /> In addition, the Government shall pay an amount not to exceed$147,413 <br /> for additional water storage capacity and related engineering and <br /> construction fees associated with the tank indicated Mr. Baker. It was <br /> noted that the well site will be located away from the area of the Base. <br />
