Page 4 <br /> r <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 11, 1995 <br /> NEW-BUSINESS. - <br /> Request for Signs - OCTOBERFEST '95: <br /> Communication was received from Michael Forde, Chairman of the <br /> OCTOBERFEST'95 Committee dated September 1, 1995 requesting <br /> q g <br /> approval to place signs at the rotary from September 26, 1995 to <br /> October 9, 1.995 to publicize the event. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caff n to a rove' the signage <br /> _ <br /> y pp gnage <br /> request for OCTOBERFEST '95 as presented, <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Costa.- <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Request for Road Betterment Abatement: <br /> Communication was received from Richard Terry dated - <br /> August�5,_1995 <br /> requesting-the Board abate tax bills#50016, 50017 and 50018 for the <br /> Mashpee Larld Conservation Trust, Inc. <br /> Mr.Whritenour responded to this request in a memo to the Board dated <br /> September 8, 1995. It was noted that the notice of abatement as received <br /> from the Tax Collector was dated December 31, 1993, approximately <br /> twenty months ago. <br /> The Massachusetts General Law provides for a six month window for <br /> applying for this type of abatement indicated Mr. Whritenour. Based <br /> upon the deadline, the Board is prevented from approving the abatement. <br /> PP g <br /> Mr. Whritenour will notify the citizen seeldng abatement to request the <br /> Commissioner of Taxation in the Department of Revenue to review the <br /> case to provide special abatement permission. <br /> It was noted that the Mashpee Land Conservation Trust is federally <br /> recognized as a non-profit organization. <br /> *No action. <br /> Acceptance of Bid-Library Heating System: <br /> stem: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the 'low bid <br /> price received from Bayside Mechanical Corporation in <br /> the amount of $13,419 for the Library Heating System. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Costa, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
