I ' <br /> Page 5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 11, 1995 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Approval of Leisure Services Advisory Committee By-laws: <br /> Leisure Services Advisory Council member,Maureen Paxton and <br /> Gus Frederick were present to discuss the Policy Handbook and By-laws <br /> governing the Leisure Services Advisory Council with the Board. <br /> Policy amendments as incorporated by the Leisure Services Advisory <br /> Council include the expansion of the Council to nine members. <br /> r <br /> One School Committee member,or designee <br /> One Board of Selectmen member,or designee <br /> One Principal, from the present school system on a rotating basis <br /> Six members at large; <br /> Three appointed by the School Committee <br /> Three appointed by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Selectman Caffyn recommended to include the town in therolo ue <br /> p g <br /> section of the policy handbook. Third sentence to read: <br /> It is responsible for all continuing educational,recreational, <br /> cultural, and social programs, and the use of town and <br /> school facilities. <br /> Selectman Dinizio suggested the Leisure Services Advisory Council <br /> make recommendations of policy to the Board of Selectmen and School <br /> Committee for Use of the High School Facility After Hours. <br /> It is important that the High School be utilized as a community facility <br /> indicated Selectman Dinizio. Ms. Paxton suggested the Leisure Service <br /> Advisory Council schedule a meeting with the Board of Selectmen and <br /> School Committee to discuss the above recommendation. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the Mashpee <br /> Leisure Services Advisory Council Policy Handbook as <br /> presented in principal. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Dinizio. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> PUBLIC DIS CUSS ION: <br /> Jim O'Hara requested further information pertaining to the betterment <br /> abatement request of the Mashpee Land Trust. Selectman Vaccaro <br /> recommended that Richard Terry be consulted with regards to this concern. <br /> The Board of Selectmen do not have any further details regarding this <br /> matter. <br />
